when someone posts a link to a paywalled article, posting 'paywall-didnt read' is rude, obnoxious and simply unnecessary. the simply course of action is to ignore the post and move on. that nobody says so in the comments worries me

I know people say that we shouldn't rely on technological solutions, that we need to change the culture, but I think we need tools that will help us achieve this change, and this might be a good step in that direction.
Yeah. The underlying issues are cultural and social, but technology can certainly play a role, either by improving things -- or make things worse.
