OK, I have some grievances with HP's Omen Hub software.
For starters: In this world of constant signals and notification overload, who wants to see all those "99+" Unread badges on the first run? Absolutely no one.

And I've never seen anyone measuring PC internals with Fahrenheit. What a bizarre default.

Also, maybe double-check your tooltip text for egregious typos?

Wait, what is this? I thought, it was something like a control panel but that doesn't seem to be the case.

@davekarpf writes (davekarpf.substack.com/p/what-…) about The American Political Science Association (#APSA) quietly inviting #TheClaremontInstitute back to their annual conference after keeping them out for two years.
I agree with every word Dave wrote. Normally I'd wonder whether Dave is planning on boycotting the conference or cancelling his APSA membership if they don't fix this, but he's still publishing his newsletter on Substack, so I guess we know the answer. 🀷

Granted, Dave did say eight months ago (davekarpf.substack.com/p/bulle…) that he would probably eventually leave Substack. You know, when it's _convenient_ for him to stop hanging out in the Nazi bar.

So many people have moved to ghost. And written detailed instructions on how to do it. There’s really no excuse at this point.

Video game reviewer Ash Parrish was tired but knew she had a job to do: review Astro Bot by its release date. Parrish committed to playing two levels before going to bed. And, as so often happens in the gaming world, her face burned from smiling β€” five hours later. Read her report at @theverge. Spoiler: She liked it. flip.it/5DytGY

I've invested 15,000 USD in DOSBox Staging development and now I see that every copy of Doom and Doom II sold in Steam ships with DOSBox Staging and I'm not getting a single dollar back of my initial investment. This system sucks.

As if mosquitoes didn’t already have the upper hand in their quest for human blood, the biting pests are using infrared sensing in their antennae to track down their prey, a new study has found. And they’re more than a nuisance in many parts of the world, spreading deadly pathogens like dengue fever. @ScienceAlert has more: flip.it/zB4gna

In Rich Nations, 72% Say Climate Damage Should Be 'Criminal Offense'
"People clearly understand that the most severe forms of environmental destruction harm all of us, and that there is real deterrent potential in creating personal criminal liability."

in reply to acm

@acm_redfox - I100% support a ban on space tourism, and private jets, and I would accept ending our space program. EVERYTHING humans do harms the environment, so the goal must be to balance benefit with harm. Even growing and eating oatmeal harms the environment, so absolutism isn't possible. We need to prioritize limiting the biggest culprits like fossil fuels.
