It includes figures from the World Health Organization, the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, and other studies. The estimates are as high as 8.8 million deaths per year.

We in eastern Europe know a very common Russian propaganda tactic to be the ”sloppy propaganda + smart propaganda”

It’s common for them to put in something that is overt and easy to find, so you think you are clever and found them out.

This could be just another honeypot to make you relax and forget to look elsewhere. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Yeah sorta. First you gotta know what the problem is, good luck getting the average user to figure out the UI looks off because of the padding. Then you gotta know where and how you need to change it to make it better.

Customizing is cool for power users that like to fiddle with their settings, however it can't replace good defaults; not that I have anything against the defaults in this case...

1. Write some code
2. Create a PR on GitHub
3. Leave it rotting there for 3 months
4. Take a look at it again, after having completely forgotten what the code does and how it works

A New York Times story today says: Telegram has become a global sewer of criminal activity, disinformation, child sexual abuse material, terrorism and racist incitement, according to a four-month investigation by The New York Times that analyzed more than 3.2 million Telegram messages from over 16,000 channels. The company, which offers features that enable criminals, terrorists and grifters to organize at scale and to sidestep scrutiny from the authorities, has looked the other way as illegal and extremist activities have flourished openly on the app. The degree to which Telegram has been inundated by such content has not been previously reported. The Times investigation found 1,500 channels operated by white supremacists who coordinate activities among almost one million people around the world. At least two dozen channels sold weapons. In at least 22 channels with more than 70,000 followers, MDMA, cocaine, heroin and other drugs were advertised for delivery to more than 20 countries.
