Last night I attended my first “Silent Book Club” event at a local bookstore. Simply put: you come and read whatever book you want for a hour. There’s optional socializing for 30-min after, and that’s it. No discussions, no pressure, no reading a book you’re not feeling.
At the end, the owner took this photo of everyone’s books and I love how this turned out. It was a lot of fun to go to and I even talked to someone because of the book they were reading. It was a good time and I’d absolutely do it again!

Pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in London, reacting to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy's recent announcement to suspend 30 of the 350 licenses for arms exports to Israel.
They recall how, in 1982, then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher imposed a full arms embargo on Israel during the Lebanon war.
Protesters are calling for a complete and imme-diate halt to all arms exports, as the ongoing war on Gaza.

On Friday, Israeli troops shot and killed a 13-year-old Palestinian girl, Bana Laboom, in her village outside the West Bank town of Nablus, Palestinian health officials said.
The Israeli military said on Saturday that an “initial inquiry indicates” security forces had been deployed to disperse a riot involving Palestinian and Israeli civilians that “included mutual rock hurling.” The security forces had fired shots in the air, the military said.

Open Firefox (because you shouldn't be using anything else), and in the Awesomebar, type in "about:config" and press enter. Accept the warning. Search for the option "dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled" and set that sucker to FALSE.
