Linux 6.11 released

Linus has released the 6.11 kernel. ""I'm once again on the road and not in my normal timezone, but it's Sunday afternoon here in Vienna, and 6.11 is out."" Significant changes in this release include new io_uring operations for bind() and listen(), the nested bottom-half locking patches, the ability to write to busy executable files, support for writing block drivers in Rust, support for atomic write operations in the block layer, the dedicated bucket slab allocator, the vDSO implementation of getrandom(), and more. See the LWN merge-window summaries (part 1, part 2) for more information.

The answer seems to be yes but I have not seen much detail on what works now and what does not. It also seems that device trees are required for each device and I have only seen that for one ASUS and one Lenevo so far.

If anybody knows more, I would love an update.

Just a reminder that the Auschwitz Memorial fedi account is for following & reflecting. Not harrassing.

There is no need to reply to it ever. This is coming from someone becoming increasingly #AntiZionist because of Netanyanhu's regime's atrocities in #Gaza and the #WestBank.

@auschwitzmuseum

Never again means never again. To any group of people.

Follow? Yes
Reflect? Also yes.
Boost? Maybe
Reply? Nope.

@paninid My rule has always been to repost any post where the person dies so that more can remember them and mourn their loss, and to favorite any person who survived to celebrate their good luck.

After many years of following @auschwitzmuseum, here and on Twitter, I’ve scrolled across exactly two survivor posts.

There are so many posts.

So many.

A lot of posts.

Too many.

Two survivor posts, that I’ve personally seen.

The rest harden my anti-fascist resolve.

Funny, but it just doesn’t seem to happen to people who don’t cut the heads off whales or commit insurrections.

This weekend, Running Down the Walls events are taking place in a dozen cities across North America, with prisoners also participating on the inside. The events will bring together hundreds to raise awareness + funds for political prisoners. Check out our list here:

A campaign of terror against an ethnic minority is being driven by Donald Trump and JD Vance and their proxy army of violent extremists. Bomb threats, school closings, hospitals in lockdown—citizens unable to leave their homes. When will the national press treat this as the emergency it is?

There is indeed no sense of urgency on the part of the media to get this situation under control. I don't understand why that is. Surely even #FoxNews doesn't actually want people harmed physically. I mean I am cynical, but there must be some humanity left?

@petes_bread_eqn_xls Right?! Reading that I was like, “These horrible NIMBY turds can’t even let this woman be herself in death?”

Screw every single person in Silverton who was against her.

For years, the identity of the world-renowned street artist #Banksy has been shrouded in mystery,
sparking countless documentaries and investigations.

However, a BBC Radio 4’s special, “The Banksy Story,” sheds light on this enigma.

The program features a rare in-person interview from 2003, offering insights into Banksy’s world and, surprisingly, his real name.

The USA is in deep trouble if you read about how the supreme court is working to favour Trump. Regardless the outcome of the election, US democracy and judicial system is in disarray in my view. The USA could be a big source of instability in the coming years.
