“You can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded theater. That’s the test, that’s the Supreme Court test,” said Tim Walz in tonight’s debate.

It is not the Supreme Court test. The SCOTUS case the quote is from was overturned in 1969, when the court replaced the “clear and present danger” test with the Brandenburg test.

Perhaps most incredibly, Yale Law School graduate JD Vance followed up and uncritically repeated the “fire in a crowded theater” phrase.

I'm pleased to announce that the second match offer from @nomdeb has been met and we can now move on to the offer from @tchambers, founder of @KamalaHarrisWin. Tim has offered a $150 match. I'm taking the liberty of adding another offer of $50 from PJD65, for our final match opportunity of VP Debate Day. The next $200 in contributions at secure.actblue.com/donate/mast… will be matched.

The Washington Post actually said something. The #BrokenTimes tried very hard not to.
in reply to Jeff Jarvis

You're going to LOVE the article that these bastards just dropped, Jeff. And by "LOVE," I mean, a great desire to climb on the roof and shake your fist to the heavens while howling in fury as democracy succumbs to fulsome fascist idiocracy with the Times serving as a kind of collective Goebbels.

Jesus, WTF happened to the NYT?

I recall their current owner had some private meetings with Trump ~2019 or so. No idea what they discussed, but it’s a bad look for the NYT

CART. To put the cart before the horse; to mention the last part of a story first. To be flogged at the cart's arse or tail; persons guilty of petty larceny are frequently sentenced to be tied to the tail of a cart, and whipped by the common executioner, for a certain distance.

Gov. Walz asks Sen. Vance to state that Trump lost the 2020 election. The Republican VP nominee reverts back to accusing Democrats of censorship.
"That is a damning non-answer,” retorts Walz.
