Big year-on-year jump in Mauna Loa CO₂ again!

Based on daily values, the September average was 422.0-422.1 ppm; that's 3.5-3.6 ppm higher than last year. And that's a lot...

By next spring, we could be looking at 430 ppm for the first time in 15 million years...

Yeah, it looks like white phosphorus, but I am not an expert on war weapons, that is why I was looking for some written confirmation on it. I know they have used in the past, I wouldn't be surprised. I just wanted to be sure.

“It drove me crazy that Walz spent half his time saying Vance was probably a good guy and they could probably agree on a lot.”

Ugh. I promise this comes from Dem consultants who say this is what voters want. No.
It prevents distinguishing the parties.

in reply to Eric Blair

Just a little push back. Agree that it would be better to call out their lies, but that would require someone who can actually do that. Tim Walz may not be that guy. J D Vance is an expert liar and dissembler and it is very hard to pierce his bogus rhetorical constructs in real time. What they had Walz do was be Tim Walz, and trust his honesty and integrity would contrast with Vance's smarminess. To ask Walz to deftly parry the fusillade of lies might have been a bridge too far.

@mastodonmigration Here's the thing, though: You don't have to refute a Gish Galloper in real time - you defuse the tactic by exposing it. Every single time your opponent says anything remotely factual-sounding, you bring up one of myriad examples of him doing the same in the past & being found to have lied; if done right, by the halfway point of the talk everyone will be hearing "I'm gonna need some documentation on that..." in their head every time the liar opens his mouth.

In a proposal, the Czech Republic Ministry of Justice suggested that the cultivation of up to three cannabis plants and the possession of up to fifty grams of dried hemp in the house might be legalized.

#Mastodon "feels" empty because you have to put effort into finding people to interact with. Profiles and content aren't served on a silver platter. Though it can feel frustrating at times, it makes interactions with other users a lot more enjoyable and authentic. It's made me realize how much my internet use is otherwise determined by ads, bots, and algorithms #fediverse #indieweb #openweb #feditips

That totally seems like the right thing for the MAGAverse to be focusing on right now. Seems like a solid strategy for winning over undecided voters going forward.

#PearAI offers an AI coding editor.

The startup’s founder Duke Pan has openly said that it’s a cloned copy of VSCode, and another AI editor called Continue, which was covered under the Apache open source license.

But PearAI made a major misstep:

PearAI originally slapped its own made-up closed license on its project, called the Pear Enterprise License, which Pan admitted was written by ChatGPT.
