I got generative AI to attempt an undergraduate law exam. It struggled with complex questions
It’s been nearly two years since generative artificial intelligence was made widely available to the public. Some models showed great promise by passing academic and professional exams.For instance, GPT-4 scored higher than 90% of the United States bar exam test takers. These successes led to concerns AI systems might also breeze through university-level assessments. However, my recent study paints a different picture, showing it isn’t quite the academic powerhouse some might think it is.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called Tuesday for the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program following an Iranian missile attack on Tel Aviv.

At least 20 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli military incursion into eastern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources said Wednesday.
Israeli forces staged the surprise incursion under heavy bombardment, shelling dozens of homes, according to witnesses.
Residents managed to recover the bodies of 20 people after Israeli forces withdrew from the area and they were transferred to Gaza European Hospital, medical sources said.

The armed forces of the United Kingdom were involved in an operation to shoot down missiles fired by Iran at Israel Tuesday night, British Defense Secretary John Healey confirmed.
“British forces have this evening played their part in attempts to prevent further escalation in the Middle East,” Healey said in a statement. “I want to thank all British personnel involved in the operation for their courage and professionalism.”

At least 10 Palestinians were killed early Wednesday in Israeli airstrikes on facilities sheltering displaced people in Gaza City, the Civil Defense Service said.
The agency said five people lost their lives when Israeli forces struck Al-Amal Orphanage.
Five more people, including three children, were killed in a strike targeting the Muscat School in Gaza City, a medical source said.
