Yemen’s armed forces hit military posts deep inside Israel with three winged Quds 5 cruise missiles, military spokesperson Yahya Saree said.

“The missiles successfully reached their targets, while the enemy remains silent about the results of the operation,” Saree stated.

“We will not hesitate in broadening our military operations against the Israeli enemy and who is behind it until the aggression against Gaza and Lebanon ends,” Saree added.

Stranded luxury cruise ship still stuck off coast of Northern Ireland - theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/o… "Villa Vie Odyssey set sail on three-and-a-half-year voyage on Monday after repairs but departure delayed again" today's metaphors aren't very subtle, are they?

So happy living in Ireland means we’re essentially forced to fly Ryanair.

Best airline ever. Totally cares whether you live or die and doesn’t in any way see you as a cell in a giant spreadsheet.

Given the speed I'm not surprised.

"The Ryanair Boeing 737 MAX departed Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) just before 07:45 local time on October 1, 2024, but experienced a tire issue when landing at 07:55."

And today there was an explosion on one of their planes, fortunately on the ground. The passengers were all evacuated safely but Brindisi airport is closed: rainews.it/tgr/puglia/articoli… (doesn’t seem to have hit English-language news yet, sorry, but I assume Google Translate or whatever can give you the gist)

Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip killed at least 60 more Palestinians overnight.

Some of those killed were in a school sheltering displaced families, said medics, as Israeli tanks advanced in areas of Khan Yunis.

Israeli tanks carried out a raid on several areas in eastern and central Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, before partially withdrawing, leaving at least 40 people killed and dozens wounded.

Let 6 minutes of James Meadway’s Macrodose (from 1:30 minutes to 7:30) eloquently walk you through how

“Our wildly complex industrial capitalist economy, developed over the last 200 years, and refined – as in the semiconductor supply chain – into systems of exceptional complexity, was built for times of environmental stability and abundant resources. Those times are now coming to an end.“

Dear listener, we live in a world where one of the purest and most essential substances known to humanity is being used to *simulate* sand for golf courses built in a desert. It feels like somewhere, at some point, something really has gone terribly wrong…
