Not sure i agree that it is lack of knowledge. It may be more of a case of early adapters, many people are not early adopters of new technology.

Yeah, and if you already have a car, the decision has to be that your /next/ car will be electric. That might be some years down the line. And for those that buy second hand, there has to be a sufficiently large pool of sufficiently good second-hand electric cars. That could add a few more years. The rate at which the balance is tipping seems okay to me. Maybe it's a bit on the slow side, but OTOH you also ought to make allowance for how conservative people tend to be about big purchases like cars. Faster would be nice, though.

We should note that this whole pattern used to be called "agitprop" where the russians encouraged writers to include agitation and propaganda in their material.

They mentioned the tactics of the "cold war", now they're able to just produce/fake actual websites & falsify attribution to actual journalist...
It's so telling that any nation would depend so heavily on tactics like this...
It's as if they operate under the assumption that we ONLY look acceptable(good)when others look unacceptable(bad)...

Ai everywhere and none of it is really Artificial Intelligence. It's all pretty badly implemented, gimmicky machine learning with whole lot of guesswork in hope it outputs correct shit. But it really has ZERO understanding what it is outputting. It's like giving result to a complex math formula with no idea how you got the results and verify if it's actually correct.

It's the season of #Python 🐍 #Conferences!

Had a great time at #Piterpy 2024 in Saint Petersburg. I spoke on "Tackling Thread Safety in Python," which happened to be the only English talk at the offline part of the Piterpy conference.

A huge thanks to the entire JUG.RU team, who made sure everything went smoothly for me. They took extra care since I don’t speak Russian and went above and beyond to ensure I had a seamless experience.

160 DEAD | Hundreds Missing

"Biblical in nature, yet unfathomably horrific, the true scope of the death and destruction of Hurricane Helene is still unknown."
- Aure

Cadaver dogs and search crews trudged through knee-deep muck and debris in the mountains of western North Carolina on Tuesday looking for more victims of Hurricane Helene days after the storm carved a deadly and destructive path through the Southeast.

Bungling red state governments cause this. Red states are run like 3rd world bananna republics. Incompetents in government. Any weather adversity or change in the economy always shows the dark underside of red states. That's the real story here, not climate change. Constantly in crisis and perennial welfare scroungers at the federal level.

Epic Systems makes the dominant electronic health record (EHR) system in America; if you're a doctor, chances are you are *required* to use it, and for every hour a doctor spends with a patient, they have to spend *two* hours doing clinically useless bureaucratic data-entry on an Epic EHR.

I'm very sorry to hear this. My chart is excellent. I've had doctors collaborate with each other. Look at you. Look at the tests from other ones. And so on. It's also good at keeping my appointment and getting it into Google 🙂

I wish that there was a centralized system that did this for like everyone. But of course it's a privacy nightmare, so I don't know

now I can say I have firsthand experience for how it feels to read Doctorow skewer my own employer 😐
