#Journal of a slightly worried Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Wednesday, October 2nd 2024).

TL;DR not a bad day but Arwen needed the vet for her ear, which worried me for her (and about the costs as well).

Day started as usual. Although the alarm woke me, and that doesn't happen too often. I got up and the scale wasn't too bad. It's not good yet! But it went a wee bit down, so that's good... 😊 I got dressed, took my meds, prepped Arwen's food, and we went outside so she could do her business. I gave her food and snacks and headed to the gym.

I struggled a bit with getting anything done again. I was just feeling rather tired... But I did manage a walk on the treadmill. Then a ride on the seated bike. A massage after that and I headed back home again. 😊

A quick wash up and then brekky. Arwen and I headed out for SniffBook walkies. We walked the longer route and we were fortunate with the weather. Arwen had some sniffs. I watched a bit of streaming as I was feeling a bit bläh and not in the mood to write much.

When we got back, I went upstairs to work on my blog some. I then rode the hometrainer and I took down the laundry and folded it. Then I headed back downstairs. It wasn't time for walkies yet, but it was sooooo wet that I didn't fancy the Herperduin in the mud again.

So of course when we headed out for walkies... It was dry 😂. But the ground was very soggy, so I guess the woods would have been hard to go through... At the end of the round, Arwen saw her friend and she was all excited. I hung up on my bestie, who was on the phone with me, so Arwen could have some time with her friend.

When we got home, I fixed some food. And then I waited till it was time to call the vet about Arwen's test results. They said the doc needed to call me back. So, of course, when I was out with Arwen in the pouring rain, I got a call. But it was too difficult to answer, so we quickly went home and I called back again.

Arwen needed to have her ear cleaned under light sedation, as she has three nasty infections in her ear. ☹️ So she wasn't allowed any food anymore, and we got an appointment at 14:15. I would have to drop her off and then pick her up later that day. It was costly, of course... But mum said they would help as they want Arwen to get better again. 💜

I played some NMS with the lovely Skwerly dude. But my connection with NMS seemed a bit wonky at times. And I was already worried over Arwen, even though she was next to me on the couch... So I was a bit grumpy and I hope the squirrel didn't mind too much... 🫣

Then it was time to take Arwen to the vet. It was hard to leave her behind. I saw an elderly brown Labrador when I left and I just had to cuddle him before I could go. Even though it was a simple procedure, I was still a bit in tears as I drove home...

Fortunately, I had a walk with Arwen's friend, and my neighbor, so I had a talk to distract me some. Arwen's friend didn't understand why she wasn't there and he wasn't too amused about it. I guess we all missed her...

When I got home, I already got the call that I could pick her up! Yay! So I did my best to get there ASAP. I got meds, I. Got even more poor due to the bill, and then she came out the area, all groggy and drunk like, but I did get a tail wag... 😊 I lifted her into the car and when she laid down, I got us back home.

I asked if she wanted food but she wasn't interested. So I took her for a short walk, laid out some snacks, and I headed to bed. It was late, for me, and after a while listening to sounds of the living room, I fell asleep.

I woke once for the loo. And then again about 30 minutes before the alarm. I got to the scale, which wasn't too bad, and I started my day.
