Exactly four weeks from right now, polls will be closing in this election.

Will our country return to the fear and chaos of Trump or elect a Democratic majority that restores abortion rights and repairs our democracy?

It all comes down to the work we do over the next 28 days! Every dollar you donate allows our organizers to reach more voters in the states and districts that will decide this election. Please pitch in if you can: secure.actblue.com/donate/indi…

It’s so funny how respectable Flushing has become. My hometown. Always found the name kind of embarrassing. 😳

Musk steals a Twitter account from a user and redirects it into Trump propaganda.

techdirt.com/2024/10/08/elon-m…

Meanwhile, lots of journalists continue to directly support him by remaining active there.

I should note that Musk (and his bankers et al) own Twitter and can do whatever they want with user accounts, so technically it's not theft. Just scumbag behavior.

I'm wondering if that America handle was previously occupied by America Magazine, the Jesuit publication helmed by Fr. James Martin, SJ. They are a pretty left-leaning publication, as Jesuit/Ignatian presses often are.

Actually you'll be shocked, but in some places (e.g. the EU) social media is regulated, so no, seizing people's accounts is not something the owner of a very large platform is allowed to do just because, he has to follow his own, well reasoned rules.

And impersonating the user afterwards is still frowned upon.

Recent developments in multi-cloud security testing:

Halberd, a new open-source tool, has been released for security testing across multiple cloud platforms. This tool supports testing on Entra ID, M365, AWS, and Azure.

Key features:
• Web interface for executing attack techniques
• Support for over 80 techniques across platforms
• Multi-cloud access management
• "Automator" for creating attack playbooks
• Reporting capabilities

While Halberd aims to simplify security testing, it's important to note that it doesn't replace comprehensive red team exercises. The tool's impact on cloud security practices and its role in multi-cloud environments remain to be seen.

As with any security tool, proper use and interpretation of results are crucial. Users considering Halberd should evaluate its suitability within their broader security strategy.
