I see the point, and again it's somewhere on my to-do list, just not at the top.
Other thing that I'm worrying about is the small number and more importantly the age of apps at webxdc.org/apps/ : they don't seem very actively maintained.
-- tools like "checklist" app are used everyday for shopping etc. These apps don't break; there is no server side that could break it. The API is pretty stable and small. webxdc.org/docs/spec/api.html
Webxdc aims to be a development model that allows to "finish" an app. If it works, it will also work in a year or two.
That being said, more web app development is welcome -- we are ourselves certainly not a "web app developer" shop ;)
