(Italian here) is not because of copyright but because of soccer. Soccer league earnings dropped in the last decade (or more), basically nobody want to pay an outrageous amount of money to watch soccer, so people in Italy are installing devices to circumvent the pay per view.

But "copyright" is a trojan horse for soccer.

@lrosa yes, you're right of course, but copyright is the weapon that is wielded by the football industry. that's the problem: the fact that it can - and is - used in this way. Italy has lost its mind in the sense that the government is trying to "protect" copyright with these insane measures...

of course you are right. Even worse, this could be a method to block websites/IP without going in front of a Judge. ISPs are fighting this, but they'll have few chances to win because in Italy soccer is maybe more powerful than the church in terms of political influence.

I think these are the long, red fruits of the palm oil tree, but I'm not sure. They look a bit spooky.
