The FCC's "punishment" of T-Mobile for its atrociously poor security practices -- constantly exposing user data to criminals -- is a wrist-slap at most.
The fine is a big number to you and me. For a giant corporation it's a rounding error of a rounding error. Deterrent? Come on.
Better than nothing, I guess. But not much better.

There is a… project? startup? whatever from Harvard that invented an enzyme which converts sugar into fiber once it’s in your stomach.
Like, it turns sugar into fiber y’all: wyss.harvard.edu/technology/su…
I learned about it since a probiotic company I already use just launched a sugar-to-fiber supplement. This is so wild: zbiotics.com/pages/how-sugar-t…
fascinating, though
> Sugar-to-Fiber is unlikely to break down enough sugar to impact things like caloric intake, blood sugar, or weight.

mastodon.social/@alttexthallof…
Originally intended as a weekly challenge to bring folks together and help get some practice writing alt text, it sort of trailed off after a few weeks.
I wanted these to be mostly thematic, based on holidays or current/historical events, and that does require a bit of time to research and prepare for.
But maybe if someone wanted to help out?
Ah, yes, I forgot the link doesn't work in the Mastodon app. Try it in your browser!
Or search for posts tagged "AltTextChallenge" from @alttexthalloffame.
I've actually noticed this a while ago, and I don't really see an issue for this, so I went ahead and opened it myself.
