How Kamala Harris’s media blitz went washingtonpost.com/politics/20…

Help me understand Swift existentials. I have a struct that wants a non-nil Codable. The compiler (against what I would expect) allows me to pass in a nil value, but if I check against that, it gets angry
How *should* I be doing this?
@drahardja a critical difference between Codable and Obj-C's NSCoding is that Codable doesn't encode type information along with the fields.
Because of that, even if Swift had more of Obj-C's dynamism, `any Codable` wouldn't be very useful in practice - you could encode any value but when it came to deserialising it again, how would you know which type to instantiate?
E.g. how would JSONDecoder know that a number literal started out as a CGFloat and not a Double?

About 7 sears ago I decided that instead of buying a new desktop PC, I would go with a laptop
I was not in a good place financially so I ended up buying an HP Pavilion Laptop from Walmart for $399
Over the years, I upgraded the RAM and SSD and It has served me well!
Now, the touch-pad buttons don't work so well, the fan makes noise sometimes, and the battery is completely dead. It was showing its age, so I started looking for a new laptop.

The same rags that criticized Harris for not doing interviews are now micro reviewing her every move now that Harris has flooded the media with interviews.
