Hey. Stop cutting to this stupid angle every few seconds. You're talking to ME, right? LOOK ME IN THE EYES DAMNIT.

It's more offputting than a jump cut, which I would assume is the only reason to do it. This is what B-roll is for, or better yet re-take!

Comeau is Featured Speaker When Haverhill River Bards Meet Oct. 16

Dr. Raymond F. Comeau, a poet appearing frequently on WHAV, is featured next Wednesday night when Haverhill River Bards’ second poetry night of its fall season takes place. Comeau, a Haverhill native and a trustee emeritus of the John Greenleaf Whittier Birthplace in Haverhill, is a former dean and current lecturer at Harvard University Extension School. The poet reads from his works in person…

Alexandra looked at her hand
She looked around her
Not knowing, not remembering
what had happened

Pain she felt
almost everywhere

Where did this blood on her hand come from?
Why this terrible pain?

She felt the tears
on her cheeks
What brought the tears?
The pain or that what had happened?

The eyes circled around
in desperation to remember

Perhaps it is better
not to remember
of what had happened...

I’ve finally hit my breaking point with YouTube and their bullshit and I was looking into Peertube. I really like what I’ve seen so far, but I’ve been having a hell of a time finding a home instance. If anyone has any suggestion on a good Peertube instance that’s open to new users, I would greatly appreciate it.

A good general instance, in Germaby so under EU privacy laws. Open registration. Fairly moderated.

Catastrophic 73% decline in the average size of global wildlife populations in just 50 years reveals a ‘system in peril’.

The steepest drops recorded in Latin America and the Caribbean (95%), Africa (76%) and Asia–Pacific (60%), followed by North America (39%) and Europe and Central Asia (35%). #ClimateChange #ClimateCrisis #GlobalWarming

As large radio broadcasters unite with local television stations to provide round-the-clock coverage of Hurricane Milton, amateur radio operators across the country are signing on to assist with emergency communications. radioworld.com/news-and-busine…

While some residents in hurricane-impacted areas can’t send texts or make calls, amateur radio enthusiasts are helping communicate requests for help and messages between loved ones. wired.com/story/hurricane-hele…

I don’t know if I should believe this. According to this #DailyOrionSpam Show clip, the entire Dominion Voting Systems story that Sidney Powell made up, that #FoxNews then ran with and Colludiani and #WeirdDonOLD parroted, that whole thing started with a woman who considers herself a ghost and she got her info from “the wind.” #FauxNews didn’t bother to fact check the story, they didn’t even contact her, but they just put it on air.

Yeah... On The Media covered this in depth a while back, and I seem to recall Fresh Air having an interview with a journalist who talked about it as well. The woman who Sidney Powell was exchanging emails with was absolutely, 100% crazy. Wild stuff.

I went to my first regular meeting of the #Raleigh #AmateurRadio Society meeting last night. We are in #NorthCarolina and some of our members helped with #HurricaneHelene. This #HamRadio club is investing in training up new hams, teaching us basic skills to get comms up and running with little more than a #soldering iron, scraps of wire, even a breath mint!

For companies that sell the supplies we use, think of donating training supplies to clubs to teach the next generations of radio heroes.

So, apparently there's a btrfs driver for Windows. It begs the question: Can I install both Windows and #linux to the same partition? 🤔 Terrible idea, but it *must* be investigated!!! lilysthings.org/blog/windows-o… (article by @i_lost_my_bagel )
