interesting reflections, not just in this excerpt but in the interview as a whole. I wonder, however, if #SallyRooney does not actually confuse the concepts of capitalism and our current hyperindividualism.

A rhythm board game? Cool! It apparently only needs music, an improvised board, and hands.

This explainer video released just today and has fewer than 100 views.

I've been thinking about this exact question recently.

My Austrian grandmother and her sister were working class teenagers during the war. They couldn't realistically have done anything to stop the Nazis. They didn't really do much to help but since they were seamstresses they secretly snuck the Jewish family in the building some sewing supplies. It wasn't much and they stopped when they were told that someone had reported them to the Gestapo. Their experience during the war was dodging bombs and trying to find something to eat.

None of that matters. When I was a kid growing up in the US people regularly made Nazi jokes as soon as they found out about my heritage. Nobody was willing to entertain any ideas that maybe those civilians shouldn't have been held accountable.

History judged all of Germany and Austria harshly. It judged the civilians harshly and it judged their descendants harshly.

Kamala Harris's campaign has publicly named 99 Republicans who voted AGAINST Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding two weeks ago.

The bill passed both the House and Senate
-- however 82 representatives and 18 senators voted against the bill
-- ALL of whom are Republicans.

These included
🔥legislators for some of the areas most affected by Hurricane Helene,
such as Florida Representative Matt #Gaetz,
Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor #Greene,
Senator Tim #Scott of South Carolina,
and Senator Marsha #Blackburn of Tennessee.

Hey, it's public knowledge. They should know who cares, or doesn't, about them.

Yikes. I heard it was set up for housing national guard and others, so that's really not good.

MAGA firebrand Donald Trump said on Wednesday he will NOT debate Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris,

hours after Fox News invited the two presidential contenders to participate in a possible second debate on either Oct. 24 or Oct. 27.

Trump and Harris debated each other for the first time on Sept. 10.

Trump has said there would not be another debate before the Nov. 5 election.

He rejected a past invitation from CNN for an Oct. 23 debate, accepted by Harris.

As a user of fosstodon, I don't understand why it's apparently banned from multiple instances here in #mastodon

I joined fairly recently and I'm from a FOSS background. I think I'm missing some context here and don't know where to look to understand the bigger picture.

Could someone provide me the context as to why this happened? I often hear it is blocked because of "Tech Bros" but I haven't met crypto and AI dudes yet. Does it mean something else?

in reply to Diegovsky

IIRC there was once a time people boycotted Fosstodon because they had a "English-only" policy (has since removed) and many people didn't like it.
