Wooo! A near-future version of Mastodon is going to support a new `/oauth/userinfo` endpoint with the profile scope.

This allows you to retrieve back standard JWT-claims about the currently authenticated person.

Much less information that /api/v1/accounts/verify_credentials, and follows the OIDC standard for User Info Endpoint.

Just had a fantastic conversation with some people at PIRG. They are really lovely people working hard for environmental protections in a lot of different areas!

(The chat was specifically about their WasteX report: pirg.org/edfund/resources/wast…)

There is a data centre proposed in Virginia that would require the 2nd biggest fossil gas power station in the entire US Fifteen 30 megawatt gas turbines - 3,500MW in total. Larger than 1,823 gas plants. Oil/gas media outlets cannot contain their excitement www.power-eng.com/gas/develope...
in reply to Ketan Joshi

lol, this the image that shows up when you google the first biggest gas plant in the US
in reply to Ketan Joshi

Direct partnerships between the fossil fuel industry and extremely wasteful forms of electricity demand are a thing!! These deals between data centre developers are reminiscent of the deals b/w bitcoin miners and fossil companies www.power-eng.com/on-site-powe...ketanjoshi.co/2021/03/11/b...

in reply to R. L. Dane

haha! Ours have adapted to our weird sleeping cycles by now, mostly. Usually by sleeping on or near us.
in reply to mirabilos

Well don't cats usually have even weirder sleep cycles? (in fact not entirely sure they have much of a cycle, but it's been ages since I lived with any cats)

Just realized Hoppscotch have some breaking change that requires to have new env variables and a manual data migration… found my self hosted Hoppscotch 503 and had to fix it during the work. Nice :neocat_laugh_nervous:
