Climate change story time. During a recent family event I explained the dynamics of climate change and what it means weather wise to a family member.
Yesterday I met them again, and came to me pale-faced to tell me I was right. With the news of the flooding in Spain things hit really really hard it seems.

The killing of journalists worldwide surged in 2022-23 compared with the previous two years, with a majority of cases unsolved, the United Nations has said.
On average, one journalist was killed every four days, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) said in a report released on Saturday.
At 162 deaths, the number of journalists killed while working leaped 38 percent, the report found, calling the increase alarming.

In the UK dentistry is increasingly privatised and our new Health Minister has been well bribed by the (often American) health companies to move even more of our health care to private sector contractors who will obviously take their cut. This will not end well.

in reply to The Privacy Dad • •I definitely agree on the lockable bootloader issue being a bit overblown. If you're to a point where malware is modifying your boot partition you've already got a mountain of problems regardless.
Although one quick thing I thought I'd point out I didn't see mentioned, e/os is sometimes slow to get security updates out. Obviously it's infinitely faster than no updates if you're on hardware no longer manufacturer supported, and everything has it's pros and cons, but figured it was worth bringing up.
