I'm one of those people who tries to read all the posts in their feed. Several weeks ago it had gotten a bit overwhelming, so (as one does) I cobbled together a script to see if I could find the “pain” points, and address them.

It can analyze your "Home" timeline, or one of your lists (and there's a —lists option to show you which lists Mastodon thinks there are, its output is a bit primitive still).

It uses the Mastodon API to fetch a specific account's statuses (posts, replies, boosts) until enough have been gathered for a certain period (7 days by default) and gives a summary for the average number in each category.
I hope to use that the next time I am considering following someone new, to know what to expect.
