Lets keep our eye on making federated/decentralized systems the norm again. Let's try to avoid internecine battles. #fediverse #bluesky #rant

@Trinsec @Hank G ☑️ How does sharkey compare to firefish? Was experimenting with that for a bit and saw potential til it died. Friendica for mine, but it's too bad it died
in reply to anubis2814

For me Sharkey is very stable compared to Firefish, refreshingly so. Firefish always had been a bit rocky to me. Migration went without problems.

There's not really that much difference visually, just small details. The base is still largely the same. They're both Misskey forks and haven't deviated too much yet seems like. Hence the easy migration (after a little downgrading to a certain version).

With companies like #RockstarGames and #EA discontinuing support for #Linux for their most popular games, #Valve needs to focus on creating appealing titles to boost sales of their console and make SteamOS/Linux more tempting. As console manufacturers, they should act like one.

Does #Denver have any #linux meetups? I went to a #python meetup a while back and felt very out of place as a hobbyist as I'm more #sysadmin professionally.

There are a couple of ways you can install #Python on #macOS, neither of which are all that challenging.

The comparison to what cockroaches do, scurry under the kitchen cabinets when you turn on the lights, is accurate.

Cryptocurrency is financial fraud with national security implications.

There's a reason why they're targeting Elizabeth Warren, Jon Tester, and Sherrod Brown...they want to commit fraud unfettered by oversight & regulations.

When even Iran's Hamas resorts to cryptocurrency, you know why the GOP adore it.

I'm quite proud of this picture of IC1805 the Heart Nebula I took on several nights during the summer from Bortle 9 inner Paris. Roughly 14h of integration, taken with a monochrome camera and SHO filters, processed in Pixinsight.
The Heart nebula is an ionized hydrogen emission nebula 7500 light years from Earth located in the Cassiopea constellation. It was discovered by William Herschel in 1787.

First images from my new smart telescope - SeeStar S50. They aren't the best, but wow, the deep sky images were taken in a sky last night where you could not see ANY stars. Images of M31, M33, Uranus and our Sun today #Astrodon #astrophotography

Maybe it sounds masochistic, but I love those cold, windy days on the water.
in reply to Adam Hunt

Alexis was really impressed today as it was his first November sail here. It was windy and cool, but we were all well dressed for the conditions and only stayed out for 1:15. There were some downwind runs when the sun was shining that felt almost warm, too.
