The U.S. Census Bureau and a growing number of states are starting to gather more detailed information about Americans’ race and ethnicity, though some respondents can now choose no race at all.

#Syncthing has this very cool upcoming feature now: Sync via untrusted devices, also known as "Buddy Backup".
This allows you and your friend to share storage capacity with each other while keeping your data encrypted. Even multiple untrusted devices can work with each other to ensure that your data gets synchronized to all trusted devices.

It's not like time synchronization is both critical to proper information security and a problem that we totally know how to solve or anything like that, eh?

I ran across this article in an RSS feed somewhere, and a couple things popped into my head. One, it really seems like the bar isn't super high to be an "advanced" Linux user. Two, it really made me think just how easy a modern Linux system is to use. I'm running
Zorin 17.2, and with the integrated Flatpacks and it's app store, it's just flat out easier to use than Windows. I haven't used a Mac in years, but the bar is pretty high with Zorin.
I bought a MacBook Air because I liked the form factor and battery life, but found MacOS unintuitive and annoying. I figured eventually I'd get used to it, but never did. What they call "think different" too often was just "different for no reason".
The last straw was them dropping support for 32-bit apps out of the blue: an "upgrade" that left my computer *less* functional than before. After that I wiped that crap off my MacBook Air and installed Mint on it. I've been happier ever since.
We've been working on a number of projects that are important for the Foundation and for the Godot ecosystem more broadly. We wanted to take the chance to highlight a few of them in this post:
