This #CyberMonday please remember: we’re not Big Tech offering a flash deal on cheap junk. Instead, we are asking everyone to consider giving a $2.00 donation. If everyone in our community gave $2.00, we would hit our year-end goal within a few hours. ⏳💸 torproject.org/donate/donate-m…

#Syncthing has this very cool upcoming feature now: Sync via untrusted devices, also known as "Buddy Backup".

This allows you and your friend to share storage capacity with each other while keeping your data encrypted. Even multiple untrusted devices can work with each other to ensure that your data gets synchronized to all trusted devices.

The new feature comes years after Tim Cook mentioned that Apple was ‘looking at’ accepting crypto through Apple Pay (he also mentioned owning crypto as part of his own portfolio).

António Costa reaffirmed Europe's commitment to helping #Ukraine join the #EU as quickly as possible.

He also emphasised that the EU would continue supporting the reconstruction of damaged power facilities, ramping up sanctions to pressure russia, and weakening the aggressor's war capabilities.

Boy howdy there is nothing that gives you more confidence in your bank's ability to maintain digital infrastructure than receiving an email message from them with a timestamp nearly 20 minutes in the future.
It's not like time synchronization is both critical to proper information security and a problem that we totally know how to solve or anything like that, eh?

I ran across this article in an RSS feed somewhere, and a couple things popped into my head. One, it really seems like the bar isn't super high to be an "advanced" Linux user. Two, it really made me think just how easy a modern Linux system is to use. I'm running :zorin: Zorin 17.2, and with the integrated Flatpacks and it's app store, it's just flat out easier to use than Windows. I haven't used a Mac in years, but the bar is pretty high with Zorin.

I bought a MacBook Air because I liked the form factor and battery life, but found MacOS unintuitive and annoying. I figured eventually I'd get used to it, but never did. What they call "think different" too often was just "different for no reason".

The last straw was them dropping support for 32-bit apps out of the blue: an "upgrade" that left my computer *less* functional than before. After that I wiped that crap off my MacBook Air and installed Mint on it. I've been happier ever since.

@stevefoerster That's been my experience with Apple too. Their "Think Different" just means "different from Windows". They don't seem to evaluate an idea to make sure it's good. Even Microsoft does some things right. Apple just doing it different all the time hasn't worked for me. Given, I don't use Apple devices and haven't for years and years, so my experience is dated to say the least. The thing is, I like it that way just fine.

We've been working on a number of projects that are important for the Foundation and for the Godot ecosystem more broadly. We wanted to take the chance to highlight a few of them in this post:
