Today we experience the shortest day and the longest night of the year. This is not just a date on the calendar โ€” it is an important point in Earth's orbit, symbolizing the end of an astronomical cycle and the beginning of a new one.

From this point on, it will not get any darker. Each following day will be a little longer, and our hemisphere will begin to receive more solar energy. We are taking the first step towards spring, summer, and new horizons.

Christmas and New Year are cultural symbols framing this objective natural process. Yes, we still have many cold winter days and snowy nights ahead, but with each dawn, we inevitably get closer to warmth and light.

Congratulations to everyone on the new astronomical cycle! May it be clear, bright, and full of energy for you.

A woolly mammoth stands in a snowy forest at night. The trees are covered in snow and illuminated with warm, golden lights. Above, the night sky is filled with stars, a galaxy, and several constellations outlined in white. A faint aurora borealis is visible in the sky.

What if russia wins in #Ukraine? We can already see the shadows of a dark 2025

Instability is growing, putinโ€™s hybrid war in Europe is heating up and for fear of escalation we have encouraged global nuclear proliferation

๐Ÿ˜ฌ ใ€ŒThe loss of a large amount of territory, the suffering of at least 3.5 million Ukrainians living under Russian occupation and the toll of dead, maimed and traumatised would amount to a terrible cost. This would not be the complete victory Ukrainians have hoped for and deserve; but it would still be a victory for Ukraine and a historic defeat for Russia.ใ€

I beg to disagree. Hard.

Any conquest of foreign territory can be sold to the famously moronic russian masses as yet another "great patriotic victory", thus further feeding the centuries-old murderous trajectory of imperial expansionism.

Instead of forever teaching russians that their medieval policies of violence and thievery work, they should finally be taught that *crime will no longer pay*. The criminal must be the one paying the costs.
