I believe the "sovereign citizen" movement actually started in the US, then Australians (and probably also others) picked it up.

Sadly we most often export the worst of us & rarely the best.!...

The data centers are coming for your electricity and water

DOE: Data centers consumed 4.4% of US power in 2023, could hit 12% by 2028

"Electricity consumption of US data centers is currently growing at an accelerating rate."

@LunaDragofelis
And for people that say, "What about the impoverished Africans who need industrialisation to pull themselves out of poverty?"

I am an African, and capitalist industrialisation, colonialism, slavery, and racism is at the root of this "poverty". The idea that those same tools are what the global South desperately needs is laughable. Degrowth must be decolonial.

We are working on a new TestFlight build that will be released later this weekend!

It will support video uploads, borrowing some optimization magic from the Loops app!

We'll let you know when it's approved ✨

Today I decided to walk from Kibirichia to Ntugi market downward in the morning a distance of 7.6 kilometres then taking a different route back upward which is longer of 12 kilometres, the temperature is 20°C , on the way I was taking photos of settlements, farms and paths.

Do you have a project that exemplifies open science in ecology and evolution? If so nominate the project for a SORTEE Commendation Award:

Currently checking out #FOSDEM's schedule and I'm finding so many great talks.

I spotted presentations by #ActivityPub royals (@evan @cwebber), Ghost founder @johnonolan... as well as talks like "Friendica - under the radar since 2010".

I cannot wait for February 😊

shout out to @Codeberg for launching #CodebergActions #CI

after some fiddling with that base image to use, i decided to go with #nixos/#nix

and so, my #diy #tui #daw now has a green check codeberg.org/unspeaker/tek/act…

now, to figure out nix and #cargo caching...

in reply to stay hinged

where is the base image defined? I followed the forgejo docs to set up actions on an internal network, and not even the checkout action works on “ubuntu-latest”
in reply to brk, a.k.a. @evanrichter

@brk
Could you elaborate on the issue you have encountered there with the checkout action? I am not sure what you are talking about.
