France today connected its most powerful nuclear power reactor to the national electricity grid. france24.com/en/live-news/2024…

France is entirely energy self sufficient. A lesson we can all learn from. Look at the job they did with ND.
in reply to Steve Herman

Initially it should have been operational in 2012, with construction started in 2007. So, it's just12 years over date.

Oh, and it ended up costing €19.1 billion, not the initial pricetag of €3.3 billion, so that is a 470% overspend.

There is no published price per MWh, but I'm guessing it's 4 to 5 times the price of solar or wind energy.

The "Autism Epidemic" Is A Myth

There are many stories about autism in the alternative medicine space. One of the most common one is the myth that vaccines cause autism, something that has been disproven many times. Vaccines don't cause autism, and anyone who tells you that they do is either remarkably ignorant or lying.

But what not everyone knows is that even the most basic aspects of this myth fails to hold water. A common claim that you'll find from pundits such as RFK Jr. and the American right-wing these days generally is that autism rates are skyrocketing, and that this must have been caused by something. They usually then go on to blame vaccines, because they can't think of any other reasonable explanations for the increase.

In fact, we know that autism rates have basically not increased in the last fifty or so years. Instead, we have simply redefined what the term "autism" means to capture a bigger group of people.

Let's look at the data.

"we have simply redefined what the term "autism" means to capture a bigger group of people." shades of Orwell...
in reply to Andrew Pam

The actual spectrum designated as confirming the diagnosis of Autism isn't the problem. The article stated there hasn't been an increase in the rate of Autism...
It becomes problematic I think when the diagnosis is applied as a catch all for introverts and socially awkward individuals like myself... instead of looking for pathology that explains social awkwardness & introverted tendencies we all might be better served by recognizing them as personality traits and only as the traits of a given individuals personality...

GOP senators should be hounded mercilessly by reporters on whether they’ll knowingly support Patel now that Trump has made the corrupt reality of the situation so inescapably, alarmingly clear.

@NPR News (unofficial) Technically, pagan simply means non-Christian. Many religions fall under that category, including Celtic, which it seems you're describing. Hellenic Polytheism and Religio Romana also come to mind. For the record, I'm an atheist, but I like interesting facts.

The US is totally screwed by bird flu now rampant in the dairy industry and the complete lack of adequate response at the local, state and federal levels. It looks like we have learned nothing from the epidemic spread of COVID-19.
