Yesterday at a doctor appointment for my son, the doctor asked if she could use AI to generate a summary of the appointment. I was torn.
Instead of saying that we are living in "late stage capitalism," what is something positive we could we say we are living in the early, or pre, stages of?
I'm tired of critiquing the current failed system & dreaming of what will replace it.
Positive answers only please. Snark and humor not welcomed in response to this post.
Aww, the cat is napping in the ejection seat of the ViperPit 🤩Paw pilot is taking a nap in the ejection seat of the ViperPit, stick and throttle on the sides.
Now where am I supposed to play now? It’s my free evening. 🤓

not sure what you mean by "trash not work".
as for swapfile, it doesn't go on the @ (root) subvolume because you don't want to snapshot it. It should go in for eg /swap mounted as say @swap volume with cow disabled. /home should really be separate volume too, you'll have a bad old time after a while snapping that.
@angrylinus @home @log But thank you. Because I swapped the drive a week ago, I didn't remember the exact original config. Now I've done so that all data is on the root volume / sub-directories as usual and the swap file is in subvolume, without additional subvol mount point. It works great. That's the configuration I had on previous SSD which did get tired and gave up it's data retention.
But when I recreated the system, I did create a #subvolume for data to be snapshotted and put #swap on a mount point root sub-directory. It does work just as well in other terms, except it breaks the #trash. #btrfs #linux
There’s a library in Southern Oregon that I’ve been helping for many years now. I love that I get to contribute to their community. I also love little gifts like this. It’s small, but it’s good. It’s kindness. It’s a nod that we’re all in this together. And, well…libraries.
In 2023, Nestlé is estimated to have paid the kremlin $24 million in profit taxes, making it one of the top contributors to moscow's militarised budget among foreign companies.
In March 2022, #Ukraine’s PM Denys Shmyhal contacted #Nestle’s then-chief executive Mark Schneider to convince him to pull out of russia.
“Unfortunately he shows no understanding,” the head of government said. “Paying taxes to the budget of a terrorist country means killing defenseless children and mothers.”

I've been boycotting Nestlé for 30+ years over their unethical behaviours, starting with the baby milk scandal, then destruction of rival companies, to appropriation of water. The fight continues.
Sometimes it's depressing to still encounter people who say "What? Why??".

in reply to Brad Rosenheim • • •On one hand, this could be one of the good examples of AI doing labor that people shouldn't spend so much time on. I can imagine that summarizing notes is important, but takes a long time at the end of a doctor's day. This could help with accuracy. It could allow the doctor to be mire productive, if that is a goal.
But I'm not a doctor. @mcnado , @hannu_ikonen know better than I do, and I am curious about their and other MD's opinions.
