in reply to George Takei ๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐๐ฝ • • •I think most Americans are for eliminating the changeover. The problem is just that they're divided between going to year-round DST and going to year-round Standard Time, and the status quo is the stalemate position.
The constituencies are both non-partisan and extremely strongly opinionated. The question is just whether it's worse for you to have a "later" sunrise or an "earlier" sunset in the winter, going by the clock.
Personally, I would have a weak preference for year-round DST but honestly I would accept either choice over what we have now.

So how about a compromise? Move Standard Time by 30 minutes and lock it in. Best of both worlds!
