exaloop/codon: A high-performance, zero-overhead, extensible Python compiler using LLVM
Typical speedups over vanilla Python are on the order of 10-100x or more, on a single thread. Codon's performance is typically on par with (and sometimes better than) that of C/C++. Unlike Python, Codon supports native multithreading, which can lead to speedups many times higher still.Codon is not a drop-in replacement for CPython. There are some aspects of Python that are not suitable for static compilation — we don't support these in Codon.

I still was not able to resolve my #webcam issue under #Fedora #Linux, so I am trying StackOverflow/Superuser instead. Here's everything I've tried so far. If you have any suggestions for me, please let me know (here or on SO/SU)!
For a friend, I installed the latest version of Linux Debian (12.8) on a machine that is starting to be old: a Compaq 6005 with an AMD Athlon II. The machine is operational and appears to be fast even on the web. As it is 32-bit and Firefox will stop supporting 32-bit in January 2025. Chromium was a good alternative.
