ICYMI - the latest monthly observations of carbon dioxide (CO₂) and methane (CH₄)... 🥹
in reply to Zack Labe

Wow, that's more background information than I expected. And yet rather unsatisfactory. In regard to the unanswered questions and to the climate relevancy.

Today in Labor History December 22, 1922: The International Congress of Revolutionary Syndicalists met in Berlin, leading to the founding of the International Workers Association (AIT/ IWA). The anti-authoritarian AIT served as an umbrella organization for numerous anarcho-syndicalist trade unions from 12 countries (FORA, USI, SAC, FAUD, CNT, etc.) with several million members at its height.

Bayrou est « en train d'effectuer les derniers réglages » autour de la composition de son gouvernement après avoir vu deux fois Macron ce dimanche, assure son entourage à la presse. Les réglages en question…

The usual suspects will use this headline as another tool to push their anti-Democratic agenda I bet, but look at the reply to this one to see what the article actually says about Biden's move and how it is intended to stop Republicans from more easily harming vulnerable communities and such.
in reply to Bellison22

I think that clickbait is the wrong term considering that, a new study of 35 million news links circulated on Facebook reports that more than 75% of the time they were shared without the link being clicked upon and read.

I worry that there are more nefarious reasons for having the headlines misrepresent the stories, but that's blueanon stuff I suppose.

Published in March, this video comes from research that aimed use #CryoET to demonstrate how FtsZ filaments are recruited into a ring or “toroidal” structure as part of a bacterial cell’s division machinery. #12DaysOfeLife

in reply to eLife

FtsZ filaments are single-stranded protein filaments that are a key component of the bacterial Z ring, which controls cell division

FtsZ filaments are found in most bacteria, many archaea, all chloroplasts, and some mitochondria.

The initials FtsZ stand for "Filamenting temperature-sensitive mutant Z".

Today in Labor History December 22, 1989: Ion Iliescu overthrew Nicolae Ceaușescu, the Communist dictator of Romania, after days of bloody protests against his repressive rule. Ceausescu and his wife were tried and convicted of genocide against the Romani people, and executed on Christmas Day, 1989. In the 1970s and 80s, Queen Elizabeth had granted him knighthood, and both the U.S. Vice President George H.W. Bush and Secretary of State George Schultz had praised the man.

How does this even work

As kids in class we could raise our arms better than these paid adult politicians

Counting 700 half raised hands in half a second? Don’t think so

in reply to stux

In essence, voting by raising hands is used when the result is mostly known in advance, as it is faster. If, after the voting, the President is doubtful about the result, he may decide to repeat it using the electronic system. Repeating the voting using the electronic mechanism may also be requested by the MEPs.

When the result is expected to be contested, electronic voting is always used instead.

This is all is explained in the document below:

Your reaction to the video is understandable and I would agree with you if I didn't know that Fidias is definitely not one to trust. He's a social media influencer that got elected purely based on his internet fame. He's a big fan of Elon Musk. His grasp of politics is at an infantile level. Like Trump, he likes to present himself as an outsider, and he pretends to expose the "system", when in reality he is the embodiment of what is wrong in our society. tiktok.com/@nicustefanuta?pid=…

Cleanup on level 2 isle 3.

Almost there, when I get this done, one more along the wall like the previous, (you also need pathways to get around), then it's onto the next level.

No not all of these are full, but I'm working ahead of the curve as I can see what's going on with the loot I'm getting.

I think this is supposed to represent prosperity. It fails to deliver its message.

Hi i would like feedback about making the constants exported variables in the template:

github.com/godotengine/godot/p…

What do you think?

in reply to Hyphinett

@BreoganHackett Thank you! That's my feeling too. I'm gonna wait today for more input and if people is ok i will make them typed exported vars, fix one formatting error and they are done.

Do you like the template itself?

in reply to Yo Soy Freeman

yeah what I've seen looks like very sensible changes and hopefully a much better resource for beginners than what they have already.

Last night in #valheim I did some more exploring of the Ashlands, and died a few times as a result. I bolstered the defenses of my FOB with a moat and some thicker walls, so at least I have a solid starting point when I do my corpse runs 😂. I'm impressed with how the lava flows look in this biome.
