Never heard about this #mastodon app for a desktop before and so I had to try it. Looking nice so far

@brembs looking to the future with his usual clarity, outlining broad *and attainable* vistas of hope:
I’m spending time and resources on good local journalism. Pittsburgh’s Public Source is a nonprofit.
Black lives matter to me. This story is about different access, different treatment, different consideration- not the same. Just think about pain management. If doctors and insurance and others discount Black patients, there is no choice but to try to get help where they can. This is more than just addictions.
Pittsburgh’s older Black men hit hardest by overdose crisis:

After that its solarpunk tech which will involve DIY/upcycling, right to repair and FOSS.
The after that I will be finishing up a short solarpunk story I've kicked around for a few months as an example of how solarpunk stories and art can make us dream.
Did you know that there's a nonprofit that pays off the layaway accounts of random strangers?

The re-criminalization of the act of existing in Turkey while Kurd continues.
Turkey 'banned 120 Kurdish-language books, magazines, newspapers, or publications related to Kurds, in the last three weeks.
[...] YEWKURD [Kurdish Publishers Association] official Jihat Rojhılat criticized the bans, stating, "Even in the 1990s, this many books were not banned at once. [...]"
He added that these bans were not legitimate according to Turkish law, as Article 3 of the Press Law specifies that books or magazines cannot be banned without evidence.'

U.S. Politics in a Nutshell:
1. REPUBLICANS: Campaigns exploit misdirection to convince those whose interests they don’t serve to vote for them anyway, by blaming other marginalized people for all their problems, and then promising to solve those problems by attacking these other marginalized communities, meanwhile creating enough hatred & distraction to slip their hands into their supporters’ pockets and fleece them.
2. DEMOCRATS: Campaigns exploit misdirection to convince those whose interests they don’t serve to vote for them anyway, by virtue-signaling to their supporters, promising to love and protect marginalized communities from the Republicans, meanwhile creating enough trust & distraction to slip their hands into their supporters’ pockets and fleece them.
The US has created an entire parallel global economy with its rampant use of sanctions-based warfare. If you sanction everyone, eventually, you just sanction yourself as enemies freely trade with enemies.
And Trump is going to make it even worse with his plans to place tariffs on everyone from China to NATO and NAFTA partners.
All while the parallel global economy just grows and grows.
