How the f*ck is a fine or being barred from doing business an impact on his duties as POTUS?

IMO, there is no reason Trump should have gone without one of (of both of) those penalties for his 34 fraud convictions.

One nice thing about the legal humor blog Lowering the Bar is it's been going for well over a decade and you can read about old situations and immediately search to find out what has happened in the intervening years.
in reply to Mr. Encyclopedia

For instance, in 2012 Wells Fargo made their fraud and abuse policy much more strict. Did this result in less fraud and abuse at their company? No. Did this get a guy fired for using a fake dime in a laundromat in 1963? Yes.

On of my favorite #python tools is Anvil. If you don't know Anvil, and are at all interested in writing web apps, you should take a look: anvil.works/

Anvil takes the HTML/CSS/Javascript/Server-side ecosystem and abstracts it all away to allow you to write Python that runs on both client and server, in a way that gives you enormous leverage.

And in a way that allows you to tap into any part of that ecosystem that you need to.

in reply to Jay Shaffstall

Anvil looks interesting. Unfortunately, it appears to be 100% proprietary. Even if you're okay with software you can't examine and modify, you appear to be stuck with using the vendor's website/app for designing your app's UI. They also push you hard to use their cloud-based, SaaS-type deployments.

There's an open source runtime you can apparently run your app with once it's built. But who says that's gonna stick around?

Investing a lot of time in building an app that is one proprietary license change away from being impossible to continue to use seems unwise.

sooo has anyone already updated their european shop for the GPSR ? can I know in detail what you did ?
I'm not sure I get it cause so far I'm just thinking of puting an extra paper in the order saying " all made by me, do not eat dimwit"
in reply to kakikakikaki

The contact info is extra confusing because "ideally" it's meant to be the manufacturer of the product, and failing that, the importer (which is probably you), and failing that, an EU-based representative. For non-EU people whose manufacturers don't have an EU representative, this means they're SOL.

For the contact info: a name and mailing address are apparently required, which is what's upset so many people even within the EU. Gotta dox yourself, or pay someone to dox them instead.

in reply to eishiya

@eishiya I'm in france so I don't need the representative.
my way to not dox myself is that I added my national freelancer number to my shop.
It doesn't give my personnal info but gouvernment can still find me with it, cause I guess its just them who want my personnal info.

Another thing.

#Altadena is a historically Black neighborhood. Tied into the work that John Brown’s sons did after his death and their migration west, along with being a free state, Altadena #California was one of the only cities to outlaw redlining, allowing Black families to purchase houses in the developing area.

This is why so many legendary African Americans come from this area - from Octavia to the directorial icon John Singleton.

It’s devastating on several levels.

Today on YouTube: And now I'm like a spammer? How weird. (I'm trying not to let these comments annoy me, since I know there are plenty of people who appreciate my pace and explanations, but still. Some days its hard not to be a grump.)

It is true that this happens to everyone. But I wanted to post it to a content lacking community. (And as a side hope, I was hoping that someone on here might be willing to share how they mitigate these moments from happening.)

Fair enough! I have a mantra for those moments. I think to myself "I am here, now. Not there, then."
