An anti-woke super PAC
⚠️is launching a seven-figure ad blitz in five states
to support President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of the Department of Defense
#Pete #Hegseth, Breitbart News has learned.
"American Leadership PAC"’s
$1 million buy will reach constituents in Alaska, North Carolina, Louisiana, South Dakota, and Utah via text, television, and radio,
urging them to contact their senators to back Hegseth.

The ads will run from Friday, January 10, through next week.
Hegseth is set to meet with the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services on Tuesday for a confirmation hearing on his nomination.

“Pete Hegseth is a warrior against wokeness in our military and will make an excellent Defense Secretary,” a spokesman for the group told Breitbart News.

Let me rephrase: Hegseth is a warrior against human rights.
in reply to Chuck Darwin

he pledges allegiance to Trump, not the constitution and will wreck our military. The services, except the marines I think, are all suffering low recruitment and retention. Only true dipshits and the neonazis will be wanting in.

Trying to learn to use pkg-config

WHY DOESN'T THIS WORK

in reply to mcc

what build system is this? cmake?
What's the output of

pkg-config -cflags <put the module name here>

?

PS. Why do you post these snippets as pictures, can't you paste text instead?

in reply to Dima Pasechnik 🇺🇦 🇳🇱

@dimpase mastodon.social has a 500 character limit. if you want the text install a "copy alt text" extension. found an answer don't worry about it
in reply to mcc

oh, 500 chars...

I often wonder why we at @sagemath (google groups) so often see bug reports of this kind, with log snippets posted as images.
Probably they are so used to these crappy limits that they do it automatically?

in reply to mcc

I not only use pkg-config every day, I've hooked on pkg-config half a dozen open-source projects, mostly these using autotools or cmake, and I haven't seen the kind of horror you describe. So I am quite curious what that was ...
in reply to Dima Pasechnik 🇺🇦 🇳🇱

@dimpase there was an error in the file, due to copypaste. specifically a spurious depends: line that was causing pkg-config to fail because it couldn't find the spurious dependency.

the pkg_config crate for rust was swallowing this error instead of reporting it upward.

I have read 5 books so far this year. #amReading but since they are just pulp sci fi it feels like it doesnt count.

I can burn through a book a day if it's light. But sometimes I consider charging back into Infinite Jest and I think about how much I hate how Wallace saw the internet and weed and it feels so cringe and 90s whenever I try to read it. #amReading @bookstodon

It has been in Nova Scotia waters since 2002 and has also been detected in southern British Columbia.

‘Rich Kids Only Get Slap on the Wrist’:

Florida TikToker and Son of Prominent Attorney Gets Significantly Reduced Sentence After Killing 6 People While Driving His BMW at 151 MPH

A Florida TikToker known for posting videos of himself speeding
recently avoided a lengthy jail sentence for a crash he caused nearly three years ago
that killed six people.

In exchange for a guilty plea,
20-year-old Noah Galle received a 12-year prison sentence
after speeding nearly 100 mph over the speed limit on a Palm Beach County road
and causing a fatal crash on Jan. 27, 2022.

That evening, then-17-year-old Galle was racing his $100,000 2019 BMW M5 at 151 mph
on a state road with a speed limit of 55 mph
and slammed it into an SUV, claiming the lives of six people who had just left work after their shifts ended.
