I really can’t understand why no one on Bluesky can see that, since it's funded by crypto bros, the same fate awaits it. Sure, it won't be this year or the next, but at some point the chickens will come home to roost.
And if Bluesky becomes a serious threat to the fascists, it will come under the same pressure.

Huh, each minute of animation in #WallaceAndGromit #VengeanceMostFowl takes at least a week to create. 30 animators work daily at the studio. Such an amazing and bonkers way to make a film (clay animation), with so much love put into every frame.

It's easiest for me to to pick on free software people as an example, as a lot of people have various reasons they're actually or at least feel stuck using windows. Blaming them for that doesn't really help in any way.
I also think the most core fundamental problem with social media is not everyone wants to interact in the same way.
Some people like academic or technical debate and other people just want to be chat and destress, and it causes conflict when people with different expectations bump into each other.

I just had yet another friend set up on Bluesky today, and their main issue was how to find & reconnect with people they know from Facebook. Not who’s going to buy out Bluesky and change its culture. This is the potential audience. Is the fediverse ready to welcome them?
