What trans representation? Orange is the New Black? One Time magazine cover? Countless articles by mediocre pundits?
Trans people have not had representation, except of a warped, funhouse mirror sort, with roles usually played by cis actors. Trans people have been shown as their trans-ness, not people who happens to be trans (with rare exceptions).
So no, trans representation has not helped because it hasn't really happened to a significant extent.

I really canβt understand why no one on Bluesky can see that, since it's funded by crypto bros, the same fate awaits it. Sure, it won't be this year or the next, but at some point the chickens will come home to roost.
And if Bluesky becomes a serious threat to the fascists, it will come under the same pressure.

I just had yet another friend set up on Bluesky today, and their main issue was how to find & reconnect with people they know from Facebook. Not whoβs going to buy out Bluesky and change its culture. This is the potential audience. Is the fediverse ready to welcome them?
