Thankfully we still have a ‘round robin’ bus service that serves the nearby villages so at least the ‘main’ road up the hill is gritted!

We’ve just polished the day off with a Chinese takeaway - I do miss fried rice, don’t wanna risk Geoff getting too upset with the shrimps!

Chinese is always a good time! We make most of ours at home, since we only recently had one pop up in town. We’ve managed to get pretty good at it, so we only go out when we’re feeling like something we can’t make ourselves.

I’m not sure who Geoff is and why he’d be upset about the shrimp, though!

It’s been a good quiet day. We’re in for more snow over the next few days, so there’ll be more like it to come.

Geoff is my gouty left big toe - he is sensitive to puritans (ok purines, but I prefer my version 😆) & sea food is jam packed with them - meat is not ideal but sadly shrimps / prawns etc are basically like tormenting a mad bull!

We have another quiet day here - I spent parts of this morning playing a new game - Dragons Dogma 2 - which is a very different sort of game to the RPGs that I’m used to. I’m not sure that keeping track of 3 ‘followers’ is going to help me.

Settled down now we’ve had launch to watch Mrs S’s detective shows.

Gout, is it then? Yikes, that has to be rough. I guess we learn to live with the things that hamper us, though. Sounds like you’re doing a fine job and not letting Geoff ruin your day.

I’ve put off clearing the drive yesterday. So, I have that chore to do after lunch, which will commence presently.

I’ll have to give it a read. I know very little about it, other than it is a foot issue. Something about alcohol has some impact on its severity.

@UnclePJ One of the things I forgot to mention is that it’s a form of arthritis, also that the pain is caused by the uric acid in ones blood reaching levels where it crystallises & with glass like sharpness shreds the joint!

Good job on the drive - thankfully the thaw is setting in so not a problem I need worry about for a few days!

Auntie PJ has doctor’s appointments for most of the day, and I’ll be working from home.

We’ve had a couple of thaws this year. Right now we have about two of the probably 5-6 feet of snow we’ve received left on the ground. It’ll probably have another 4-5 inches of snowfall today and tomorrow. It just snows a lot here.

Other than the constant “mowing the driveway” as I like to say, it’s really is a joy to see and I still enjoy the muted sounds. When it’s not blowing sideways, that is. 😂

@UnclePJ I think that we will ‘enjoy’ more snowy winters for a few decades to come!
