Speaking of billionaires, the mega-yacht "Pi" (AKA "Motor Yacht 818"), until recently owned by former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, is evidentially heading into DC tonight. (It's tall enough that it requires a drawbridge opening on the Wilson bridge to make it up the Potomac, which was just announced).
It's unclear who currently owns it, but my money, such as it is, would be on one the various billionaires who attended the inauguration.
Bridge opening appears to have been canceled tonight.
The Woodrow Wilson Bridge is part of I-495 (the DC beltway), and has fairly limited windows for requesting openings: generally only overnight, between midnight and 5am, with 12 hours notice required. But it doesn't have to actually open very often; it has 80 feet of clearance when closed, and there's not much large ship traffic in that part of the Potomac (mostly recreational sailboats).
local mythos was the bridge continued to remain in operation long beyond it's place in naval operation to accomodate bringing those huge rolls of newsprint to the washington post presses

I finally finished this slog of a book. Don't get me wrong, it was well done, but it was DENSE! Which is mostly what l expected. For a scholarly book, it was pretty accessible.
I'm glad I read it, as it was quite informative and interesting and answered quite a few questions I had. I particularly liked Bradford's discussion of the reasons behind the increased innovation in the U.S. vs the E.U.

She made the point that's there's a lot more at play than just the "restrictive rights' driven policies" most people point to. For instance, failing at a business venture and having to declare bankruptcy in the U.S. is much less punative than it is in the E.U. I also really appreciated her phrase "techo libertarian" as I felt it was spot on as a description of the corporate driven "free market ideal" in the. U.S.

Trump Is No Friend Of Police!
With Trump's pardoning of nearly 1,600 criminal defendants, including those serving up to 20 years in prison, Trump once again shows his disdain for law enforcement.

So typical my computer likes to be at around 60c when docked. Not sure if it is so cold in my house that it is over powering the intel space heating features.
