I finished my first book of 2025. "Fear is Just a Word" by Azam Ahmed. It was excellent.
Even though the content was terribly sad, scary and frustrating - it also inspiring as it is the true story of an incredibly brave and resourceful mother who takes on members of the Zetas drug Cartel in Mexico after they murdered her daughter.
It mixes chapters of the story of Miriam Rodríguez and her struggle interspersed with chapters that detail the rise of Drug Cartels and infiltration into the Mexican government. It also details how nearly all innocent people are affected by the violence of the Cartels that are supplying the Drugs that Americans are buying and using.
