I follow too many accounts. I think it's over 1500.
It's gotten to the point that my home timeline is full of irrelevant stuff I'm not interested in.

How do I fix this? 🤔

That kinda happened with me at one point. I ultimately decided to go through a few of the posts and see which ones I just scroll past. As in, what is my brain just filtering out.

I also looked for posts that interested me, but not necessarily positively. Certain people posted too much "doomsaying takes" for me (political, tech, or otherwise).

Dunno if this'll help, but my feed is more manageable after unfollowing such content. I can manually check account posts if I feel like it.

Yesterday, at State of Open Con ‘25, I saw people round stickers on their lapels. I thought it might be showing support for a cause, charity or political campaign. But no, they’re these ⬇️ 🔴🟡🟢 made available by the event organisers! Nice!

Ending Support for Expiration Notification Emails: Since its inception, Let’s Encrypt has been sending expiration notification emails to subscribers that have provided an email address to us. We will be ending this service on June 4, 2025 letsencrypt.org/2025/01/22/end…

Caddy takes care of all of this for me, although I wonder why this service is ending for certbot users...

Google updated its public AI principles page,
removing a section titled “applications we will not pursue,” which contained a promise not to use AI for weapons or surveillance.

When asked, Google’s referenced a new blog post stating they believe in creating AI that protects people, promotes global growth, and supports national security.

Given their massive investment in AI, cutting off potential revenue streams when the competition isn’t just seems unwise.

it’s also a choice to have principled principles rather than just chasing revenue.
