Also had a window guy come out to do a quote on the main bedroom window. It's old, tired and far to restrictive... it also doesn't meet current fire regs on being able to escape.
So the 4 centre panes will be merged into one about 550mm wide, the triangle at the top will become a single pane, and the 2 openers will drop to the bottom and also have about 550mm wide glass in them. Which actually makes the whole window more symmetrical.

I was reminded by the guy that he'd been here before... some 2yrs ago to quote for the front door and patio doors.
We didn't use them back then either because they were about £1200 more expensive than anyone else.
The tiny little ensuite window is about 600x800mm and they want £700 for it.
To put that in context, I had a window twice the size installed that was a tilt and turn (opens inwards from the top, or inwards from the side) for just £695 middle of last year.
Another window guy coming out Sat morning, and there's another firm locally we've used... who I don't like, but they're prices are hard to beat.

Put it this way... the last time we had them out to do patio doors, front door and 3 blown panes of glass... they were more than £1200 more expensive than what we ended up paying.
£200 aint gonna cut it. £4300 from them, I'm expecting it to be under 3k.
