The story is that Danielle Smith is at that convention looking for investors to fund LNG in Alberta for Kevin O'Leary's proposed $70 billion AI data centre which he says she has promised him she can authorize.
Because AI needs the massive amounts of electricity which LNG could provide.

during and after WWII the USA gained a huge tech advantage by welcoming European scientists and engineers. Now Trump is offloading all US science and tech over to Europe and China. That should work out well for Europe, but probably not so good for the USA.
