UA POV: “I don’t want to witness what will happen to Ukraine after the end of the war. 3 days after the end of the war, I’ll take some guys and we’ll leave Ukraine” – Madyar, perhaps the most famous drone commander in the war. byteseu.com/851869/ #Ukraine #UkraineConflict #UkraineConflict

An introduction to Magit, an Emacs mode for Git

in reply to learnbyexample

I fact that most if not all the modern git client/porcelaines are all obviously inspired or even clones of magit is telling, tbh. It's an excellent piece of software and the daily driver of many, me included
in reply to learnbyexample

Obligatory mention of lazygit for those who prefer vi and its descendants.

No, I'm not making any claim regarding which is better. Hold your cards and letters. In many other universes, I'm a daily user of magit.

Here's a letter to the American public from (anonymous, out of fear of retaliation) current & former employees of EPA, earnestly -- and somewhat heartbreakingly -- explaining how important their work is & what a tragedy is is that Trump's destroying it.

An open letter from EPA staff ...

in reply to David Roberts

The unspoken background belief seems to be that EPA's work will "speak for itself," or that the legacy media will dutifully & fairly report what EPA does to the public -- that communicating the merits of a competent bureaucracy is someone else's problem. But no one's doing it!
in reply to David Roberts

Americans' health & welfare are undergirded by an intricate policy & bureaucratic architecture that most Americans don't even know exists. We all take it for granted. No one celebrates it. And so when the assholes come after it, few people rise in defense.

NEW: Trump issued a memorandum tonight essentially telling AG Bondi and DHS Sec Noem to go after lawyers who challenge the federal government — many lawyer’s jobs.

It’s basically a catch-all “let’s Paul Weiss whoever pisses us off” memo attacking the rule of law. documentcloud.org/documents/25…
