Trump’s persistence in trying to replace tax revenue with tariff revenue, and in manufacturing reasons to do so, is freaking out the markets already.
But Trump doesn’t seem to mind—liberators don’t sweat the small stuff.

An interesting review, and for those who wonder, Vassallo and Vignati miss the point: it's not that Meloni's Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy) is a normal conservative party and therefore not a fascist one, but that conservative parties are, at the core, fascist.
Remember, fascism is just any right-wing agenda on steroid. There is no such thing as a non-fascist right.

"To enable AI growth, many energy companies are planning to co-locate low-carbon power generation facilities with computing and data center partners. These initiatives are substantial in scale and present significant siting challenges, particularly in identifying locations with adequate water resources to satisfy the cooling requirements of power production, data centers, and local communities."

beautiful line drawings of landscapes and creatures to tell stories about political technologies... Wow! Here for this!
I am planning at some point to try and make a "fediparty" in Leipzig. I wonder if I could use your work in making a poster? Or perhaps you're even interested in making a poster, with date/place left empty? 😅
So, fedi, how do I pick monitors?
I want to spec out a new home office workspace. I want three monitors, probably larger than 24” each. I am somewhat visually impaired, inasmuch as I have myopia, astigmatism and encroaching presbyopia, and have just been operated for strabismus. I have glasses for this, but I do need to keep my screens at a reasonably consistent distance from my face.
I’m not a gamer, so I don’t need the ultra-high-framerate screens, and I’m not in professional media either, so super-faithful colour reproduction is not a huge concern. I would appreciate high contrast ratio, and good tolerance for a pretty well-lit office with lots of natural light. I mostly do office work and programming.
I’m not looking for specific monitor recommendations, rather resources that tell me what to look for and how to evaluate the relevant specs.
I am not averse to spending some money on decent quality monitors, I am going to spend hours a day at it.
transflective lcd is great if you want the room lighting and don't care about exactness of color. unfortunately there's only about two companies that make them these days and they are $$$. up side is reduced eye strain because you aren't staring at a lamp.
otherwise i think pretty much any name brand fits those requirements as long as you make sure it has a VESA mount (four holes in the back that are used to attach it to desk arms; some hipster brands like to leave them out), and also make sure you have enough GPU ports & adapters (its normal to have only one HDMI port and the rest are DisplayPort, whereas the monitor might be take either/both DP or HDMI)
