The image is a four-panel comic strip featuring a group of fantasy characters, likely from a role-playing game, gathered around a wooden door. In the first panel, a character exclaims, "Look everyone! A door!" The second panel shows the group discussing various methods to investigate the door, such as casting detect magic, detecting evil, detecting poison, listening for monsters, checking for traps, and considering the possibility that the door is an illusion or a monster. In the third panel, the group continues their discussion, with one character humorously suggesting to talk to the door and another poking it with a spear, only to clarify it's not their good spear. The final panel shows a character at a table with a game board, looking frustrated, with dice and a pencil nearby, indicating a role-playing game context. The comic humorously exaggerates the characters' over-preparation and cautiousness when approaching a simple door.

GMs love to make this joke. But the players are not acting irrational. They are just engaging with the game world in the way their GMs have trained them to.

Oui.

etc.
in reply to Grompf

In a first-of-its-kind study, Yale researchers were able to create a global map of butterfly diversity “hot-spots.” These high-altitude environments are most at-risk from climate change and ecosystem loss. #ClimateChange

The image features a vibrant, cartoon-style illustration of a natural landscape. In the foreground, a large tree with a brown trunk and green leaves dominates the left side, with its branches extending towards the center. The background showcases a serene river flowing through the scene, with a stone bridge arching over it. Lush greenery, including various trees and bushes, fills the midground, while mountains with blue peaks rise in the distance. The sky is partly cloudy, adding depth to the scene. Overlaid on this picturesque setting is the text "Announcing Fedora Linux 42" in bold, orange letters, which stands out against the natural backdrop. The overall composition combines elements of nature with a modern announcement, creating a harmonious blend of the natural world and technology.
