Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated on Wednesday that “not a single grain of food should enter Gaza” until the captives are released.
In a statement, Ben-Gvir called the proposed aid corridor a “historic mistake” that would relieve pressure on Hamas.
“Resuming aid before Hamas surrenders is wrong. I will do everything to prevent this step and urge the prime minister and defense minister to stop it,” he said.

Ten Palestinian detainees were admitted to a hospital in southern Gaza on Wednesday after being released from Israeli prisons, local sources said.
The 10 detainees were set free at the Kerem Shalom (Karam Abu Salem) crossing in southern Gaza and appeared in poor health, the sources said.
The freed Palestinians, who were detained by the Israeli army during the war in Gaza, were immediately taken to the European Hospital in Khan Younis.

A skeptic doesn't accept a given position on a topic until they've seen well-gathered facts, analysis or data to support that position.
Denying #climateChange or #vaccines in the face of solid evidence doesn't define a skeptic. At best that's a denier or conspiracy theorist.
We should normalize calling people like #RFKjr something like "a vaccine disinformation enthusiast" or "vaccine ignorant."

Today in Labor History April 16, 1994: Ralph Ellison died on this day. Ellison was a member of the Harlem Renaissance, best known for his book, The Invisible Man. He was friends with Langston Hughes and Richard Wright. He became active in the Communist Party, as did many of his peers. But he became disillusioned with them during World War II when he felt they became reformist. He wrote The Invisible Man during this era (published in 1952), in part, as a response their betrayal. But the book also looks at the relationship between black identity and Marxism, the reformism of Booker T. Washington, and issues of individuality and personal identity.

At least 25 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, pushing up the death toll from Israel’s genocidal war since October 2023 to 51,025, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
A ministry statement said that 89 more injured people were also transferred to hospitals, bringing the number of injuries to 116,432 in the Israeli onslaught.
