Watches have jewels in them, they are synthetic ruby, bloody worthless ... In the USA the government had to put a tax on outrageous statements 144 jewels

Here is a oscillating weight from a swizz made watch, that is stamped Waltham... Pretty and useless

ClickUp 3.54 adds Connected Search for Microsoft Teams, rich link previews, new automation for Chat messages, and easier group creation in List View alternativeto.net/news/2025/4/…
in reply to AlternativeTo

The image displays a screenshot of a digital interface, likely from a project management tool named CLICKUP, version 3.5.4. The interface features a blue-themed design with a circular logo on the left side, which includes a colorful upward arrow. The main content area shows a message from a user named Albert, who has shared a Spotify playlist titled "Billboard Hot 100" with the team. The message reads, "Hey Team! Enjoy your weekend with this playlist! Great vibes." Below the message, there is a rich link preview of the Spotify playlist, including the album cover, track titles, and durations. The interface also highlights features such as Microsoft Teams integration, rich links previews, automated task updates, and groups in list view. The Spotify playlist is open, and the first track, "luther (with sza)" by Kendrick Lamar and SZA, is playing. The interface is designed to be user-friendly, with a clean layout and intuitive navigation.

“To the Canadian health-care professionals practising in the U.S., let me say this. If you’ve been thinking about coming back to Canada, there’s never been a better time,” Carney told a morning press conference at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown.

“It’s time to come home.”

Carney rolled out a health-care plan that includes $4 billion for building and renovating hospitals and long-term care homes.

Teenage German tourists handcuffed and deported from Hawaii over ‘suspicious’ hotel booking

‘We had already noticed a little bit of what was going on in the U.S. But at the time, we didn't think it was happening to Germans,’ Maria Lepère says

Hawaii is very stratified, like a lot of vacation destinations. You have the very wealthy who have large properties, often destroying animal habitats and cultural landmarks in construction. And you have all the locals who support the hospitality industry living in shacks and tightly clustered neighborhoods. But as more of the land is bought for larger estates, less is available for the locals and the cost of rent and owning goes up. Companies buy apartments that should go to locals to turn them in to cheap Airbnbs. The locals like the tourists that come and spend money, but they don't like the rich that come and buy up all the land and drive up prices for everyone else.

Another 🧵, following up on this one mastodon.social/@heidilifeldma…. I want to emphasize one aspect of the A.A.R.P. v. Trump (case re Venezuelans detained under Alien Enemies Act) plaintiffs' Supreme Court filing from today. The plaintiffs incisively correct the factual assertions made by the Trump regime about whether plaintiffs sought relief from the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court prematurely. 1/ #LawFedi supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24/…

The plaintiffs' brief then lays out the timeline of what was happening on the ground in Texas and in various court proceedings on Friday, April 18. I am going to sketch that timeline here. 3/

12:30 am 4/18: Plaintiffs filed renewed in district court the emergency TRO motion they had made on 4/17 and the judge had not ruled on yet. Plaintiffs did so because they had received reports that detainees were being told they were going to be removed from the U.S. later on 4/18. 4/

In response, the judge stuck with his plan to rule on the TRO by midday, 4/19, which would have been after the time the DHS was telling detainees they would be deported by. The Trump executive was refusing to provide any information about the impending deportations nor say when they intended to file a response to the emergency request for a TRO. 5/
in reply to Heidi Li Feldman

Afternoon, 4/18: With nothing happening in the District Court, the plaintiffs filed for relief in the 5th Circuit and in the Supreme Court. This was done more than 14 hours after the plaintiffs had moved for a TRO.

5:35 pm, 4/18 Buses onto which DHS/ICE had loaded detainees departed the Bluebonnet detention facility. These were later turned around, apparently because of the Supreme Court filing and/or the Supreme Court emergency order forbidding removals. 5/

The Trump regime has not denied that it was set to remove Venezuelan detainees Friday evening/Saturday morning. Nor does it deny that if the detainees had been sent to CECOT, prison in El Salvador, the Trump executive would have argued it did not have the authority to get the detainees back to the U.S. 6/

The ACLU attorneys correctly maintain that they have an "ongoing professional obligation to the 'putative' class members' and that the attorneys would have been "derelict in their duty" had they NOT sought emergency relief from the Supreme Court when they did. 7/7
in reply to Heidi Li Feldman

Thanks for the timeline that is the touchstone of the argument about whether the Venezuelan immigrants’ case was properly before scotus.

I seem to recall that in the past trump&co themselves have scurried to scotus seeking extraordinary relief before the circuit court ruled.

in reply to Heidi Li Feldman

Just a layperson over here, do you think the DOJ’s “what I’m being told” approach to representation is likely to protect them? They plainly made false representations to the Supreme Court… isn’t that contemptible?
in reply to Heidi Li Feldman

is the “4/27” in this post a typo for “4/17” or perhaps a different day?
