What foolish person actually bought a Cybertruck only to do that? LOL.
in reply to AI6YR Ben

@ai6yr I'll be surprised if any Cybertruck ever hits 100k miles driven. Nonsense to call it a Toyota =)

thank you for this. I've been out of practice with coding because I don't need it currently with my job but I've been wanting to get back into it. I've been struggling to find a text editor I liked and I don't know why I never thought about Kate given I use KDE anyway

"It’s the little things that sustain me. Smile. Touch. Humanizing each other. The validation that under capitalism, all of us suffer, but that suffering need not be made invisible. I ground myself by concentrating on the small, seemingly inconsequential acts of interpersonal resistance that make a terrifying world feel a little less hostile."

The real swing voters aren’t white independents who switch parties every four years.

They’re voters who swing between going to the polls and staying home
—and they are disproportionately from groups that form the Democratic base.

That’s why Democrats’ lack of commitment to that base—and, by extension, to multiracial democracy—is a fatal mistake.

The lack of curiosity about these voters’ choices reflects an assumption that white voters are thoughtful actors making discerning political choices, while voters of color are rote and unthinking.
It also lends itself to the neglectful treatment that helped cost Democrats the election.
We haven’t maxed out the Black vote. We haven’t fought for the Latino vote. We have not fully funded and leaned into a strategy which says people of color plus progressive whites are the winning coalition.

It’s not by mistake, it’s on purpose.

Establishment Democratic leadership would rather hold onto their “soft” white Christian supremacism, their neoliberal capitalist imperialism, their fat cat money streams, than win. *They would rather lose.*

We must somehow break the coalition off from the fat cats & their anti-public ideologies.

ALEC, Koch, KKK, NRA, Heritage Foundation, Claremont Institute, et al, still exist.
Desegregation has been paused. "Redlining" and it's ripple effects still exist.

Why would the people doing all of the bleeding, crying, and sweating, while getting none of the money or recognition want to help - any - US political party?

Nevermind, Americans With Skin Color (tm) - can't - de facto vote, even though de jure they can, in the southern states and "sundown towns".

For decades the #unitedstates was considered by many to be the leader of the #free #world.

Hmm. I think that viewpoint was very popular inside America: outside...not so much. Also very hard to reconcile the "Free World" phrasing with the CIA's destabilising operations globally, which tend to come down to nothing more than ruthless economic exploitation and/or geopolitical control.

What we're seeing now is the death of the pretense, the reality-control field having collapsed. I had a reminder today that America has operated a very famous extra-legal, foreign-based detention center for twenty three years at this point, surviving two Democrat presidents despite their best efforts. All that's changed is the scale and the targets.

But I can wholeheartedly agree with your last statement.

Israel’s former ambassador to Italy, Dror Eydar, has accused the late Pope Francis of anti-Semitism and called on the Israeli government not to attend the pontiff’s funeral.

Israel’s former ambassador to the Vatican also echoed some of that criticism.
