in reply to AI6YR Ben • • •you know it’s not the right post but you mentioned people giving you flack about sewing. I am an eagle scout and one of the requirements of our trip was we had to learn how to sew on our own badges wasn’t always pretty but we learned.
Sewing is a skill that I wish I knew much better beyond sewing on patches. Anybody that finds it odd or funny will simply be a statistic in a survival situation. It’s a skill and unless you’re starring on naked and afraid one that we will all need.

I was taught woodworking at my grandfather’s knee, but my mother taught me to use a sewing machine and I’ve gone on to make everything from tents to sleeping bags. I don’t have the same level of finesse and skill as my sister (who sewed her own wedding dress!), but clothing never interested me.
Sewing is 100% a masculine skill.
