But that's only true when not using the developers own fdroid repo.
So in all, I'm just very confused by their statement.
Certainly there are scenarios I can theoretically imagine where it might not be enough, but there's always some scenarios... ... including where their purposed checks wouldn't be enough either. As always it's up to each person to balance effort versus plausibility of threat.
