U.N. experts said in a report on Tuesday that Israel committed the crime against humanity of "extermination" by killing civilians sheltering in schools and religious sites in Gaza, part of a "concerted campaign to obliterate Palestinian life."

The commission examined attacks on educational facilities and religious and cultural sites to assess if international law was breached.

Israeli forces killed 20 starved civilians and injured dozens more on Tuesday at an alleged ‘aid distribution point’ near the Israeli-created ‘Netzarim corridor’, according to medical sources in Gaza.

Victims were waiting for food when troops opened fire, marking the latest massacre linked to operations run by the Israeli-American Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).

Greta Thunberg is being deported from Israel after the Gaza-bound ship she was on was seized by the Israeli military.

Adalah, a legal rights group in Israel representing Thunberg and the other activists, said the Swede, two other campaigners, and a journalist had agreed to be deported.

Rima Hassan, a French member of the European Parliament who is of Palestinian descent, is reported to be among the people to refuse deportation.

Right. Why agree to be deported from your own country?

in reply to Martin Vermeer FCD

@martinvermeer
Let's see how it all turns out.

Israel needs to make special prison clothes for these people, so that the Israeli prison staff know exactly that they are not allowed to torture or rape them.

An Israeli strike killed a Lebanese father and son Tuesday in a southern village, the Lebanese health ministry and state media said.

A second son was also wounded in the strike in Shebaa, the state-run National News Agency reported. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

“An Israeli enemy drone carried out a strike in the village of Shebaa, killing two people and wounding one,” a health ministry statement said.

Remarkable investigation into Telegram by IStories (in Russian):

English version by OCCRP:
occrp.org/en/investigation/tel…

tl;dr:

👉 Telegram uses a single company with ties to the Russian FSB as their sole infrastructure provider, globally.

👉 Combined with a cleartext device identifier Telegram's protocol requires to be prepended to all encrypted messages, this allows for global surveillance of Telegram users.

I am quoted in this story.

As part of the investigation, I have looked closely at Telegram's protocol and analyzed packet captures provided by IStories.

I have also done some packet captures of my own.

I dive into the nitty-gritty technical details of what I found and how I found it on my blog:

Telegram is indistinguishable from an FSB honeypot

Yes, my packet captures and a small Python library I wrote in the process are all published along.

I've always been calling it FSBgram.

Durov has banned exactly zero pro-Kremlin propagandist channels, no matter how notorious and hateful.

Meanwhile, there were many cases where the owners of the supposedly anonymous opposition channels were somehow suddenly "identified" and persecuted by the regime. It happens less often now because almost all the remaining opposition is either in jail or in exile, but ~5 years ago it was a very common occurrence.
